Windows redoes everything (output resolution, HD audio, etc.) every time the receiver turns off or the TV connected to the receiver turns off. Might be a wrench in the works that my machine has only displayport output and DP has that annoying habit of thinking the world is crumbling around it if the display device powers off.
Why have the option to manually set the config if it is going to auto-detect it all the time and override you anyway? In that case, the PC goes to stereo configuration and sometimes won't get back to 5.1 until I reboot it while the receiver is on. Yeah it works great for me other than if I wake my computer from sleep before the receiver is powered on.
